360 Leadership Course In KL Malaysia


The statement, ‘‘everything rises and falls on leadership’’ is often said by John Maxwell, and this is true. So, when we are discussing the performance of an organization, we cannot but talk about leadership. Stephen Covey helps us out here, “A leader is the one who climbs the tallest tree, surveys the entire situation, and yells: “Wrong Jungle!’

There is almost nothing much like followership! In most cases, organization. No one will ever complain of any organization existing with too many leaders. In actual, organizations can never have enough!

However, most organizations narrow their vision to a limited number of leadership positions, and when hiring leaders, they think only in terms of filling the top spots. That is the reason why we do not hear of followers, we are all expected to be leaders in every aspects of our positioning within the organization.

Leadership is a complicated and difficult skill, one that no single person ever maters. There are some things you do well as a leader, and some you do poorly. It is same for all leaders, the same for you. Even the greatest leaders from history had blind spots and weak areas. 

So what’s the solution? Organizations need to develop leadership teams at every level! A group of leaders working together is always more effective than one leader working alone. And for teams to develop at every level, they need leaders at every level.

Case Study 1: Effect of Autocratic Leadership


Ah Seng is a supervisor for local motorcycle manufacturer. He just receive a new worker named Amir today. Amir is a fresh grad and were keen and eager to learn, especially in handling heavy machinery. This is because Amir had learn to operate these machinery at university, however it is not enough for him as the time allocated for practical use of these machinery is very limited.

One day, a senior machine operator got sick.Thus, there is no one to operate the machine. Ah Seng sees this problem and assign Amir to operate it. Ah Seng thought it will be a good experience for Amir. Thus, Amir had learn to operate this kind of machine at university, thus this should be no problem even without Ah Seng giving instruction and supervision.

Weill, it's just a disaster waiting to happen. Amir dropped few of motorcycle body frame which cost thousand each as he could not use the machine properly. Ah Seng got very mad and fired him immediately. Amir, shocked and embarrassed left the factory without a word. Ah Seng thought by doing this, the management will be at ease because he had eliminate bad seed.

When the incident reach to the management, it was Ah Seng who are in trouble. This is because not only he allow a rookie to handle heavy machinery, which not only can lead to damage, but also injury, Ah Seng also did not give proper instruction and supervision while Amir was handling the machine. On top of that, he fired Amir, in which, he acted outside of his powers.

After few month, Ah Seng got fired due to improper judgement by letting rookie handle heavy machinery all by himself, incapacity to done his job properly by not giving instruction and supervision to Amir while he is required to do so, and acted out of his job scope by firing Amir without proper procedure and power vested in him to do so.

Case Study: There Is No "I" In Team


Tommy is a project coordinator for an e-sport event. He is tasked to host an event for MP in Muar who loved to participate in e-sports. As usual. he assembled his A team, a team that can walk the talk, a team that can deliver promise. After persuasion and negotiation, Tommy finally got the team he need. The team began to draw a budget, make a plan and so on.

On the day on the event. It went very well. Tommy, together with his team managed to control the flow of event smoothly and are according to plan. They also managed to let the MP of Muar to try out some of the latest game on console and on personal computer. The MP of Muar was so impressed, he asked a question that will changed Tommy's relationship with his team forever.

MP said "Wow, Tommy, thank you for such a nice event. I enjoyed the game that you have suggested. Do you managed it yourself?" Tommy, proudly says "Yeah, amazing right YB?" When the team heard it, they confronted Tommy when Tommy said this magical word "I am the one who recruited all of you. I deserve all the credit"

After the event, all Tommy's team member ignored Tommy. Some quit the job because they felt betrayed by Tommy. As a project coordinator, Tommy tried to make up to the rest of the team, but it did not work. Tommy do have several projects after that, but the results were not the same with his former A team. Tommy regretted his action and swore to give credit where it is due.

Case Study 3: Benefit of Excellent Leadership


Mat was an accountant clerk at local accounting firm. One day, the management decided to put Nor an intern student, in Mat supervision. Nor was a student undertaking an ACCA certification, thus compared to Mat, it was like heaven and earth. Mat thought he will not have to teach anything to Nor considering this fact.

However, he was wrong. When preparing for an accounting report, most of Nor's format are wrong, her report is hard to digest and she break down easily when the task is piling up, which is normal in the accounting firm. Mat then step up, teaching Nor account essentials and giving her emotional support when she needs.

Mat had not heard from Nor after she completed her intern. Out of blue, after 3 years since Nor's intern, Mat suddenly got promoted to account executive. Mat was shocked. Considering his qualification, he did not deserve such position. Mat later learn that it was Nor, who is now an ACCA qualified, wrote a recommendation letter to the management that got him promoted.

Mat called Nor and thanked her. He also asked why she troubled herself writing that recommendation later. Nor explained that before her intern, she thought excel in CGPA equal excel in work. It prove wrong when she went for intern. However, Mat leadership save her and opened her eyes on what true leader should be.

Instead of mocking and scolding Nor for her poor work, he helped her, showing to her that a good leader is not necessary have highest qualification, but rather willing to lead when needed. In Nor's case, Mat become a leader when he willingly teach Nor essentials and giving her emotional support when she needed. Thus, Mat having such qualities is why Nor wrote the recommendation letter.
